Technician-Orthopedic - JS MedSurg 6C MBMC

Summary

To assist the nursing staff in the rendering of patient care by performing the duties of lifting, transporting, positioning, assisting patients and other assigned duties. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Provides care as directed by licensed personnel. Relays pertinent patient information as appropriate in a timely manner. 30 %
• Assists in maintaining unit/patient equipment. Sets up Balanced Suspended Fisher Traction and other orthopedic equipment on hospital beds. 25 %
• Purposefully rounds on all patients PRN to check on patients and bed equipment. Communicates pertinent information to licensed personnel. 25 %
• Assist in admission, transfer, discharge, lifting, turning and ambulation of patients as directed by licensed personnel. 20 %

Requirements, Preferences and Experience

Education

Minimum: High School Diploma or Equivalent Required. Completion Orthopedic Training/Module Required.

Experience

Minimum: No experience required.

Licensure, Registration, Certification

Minimum: License/Certification/Registries (valid for the State of MS): Basic Life Support (CPR) Certification within 14 Days of Employment Required.
