The Senior Manager, IT Communication will assist in the development of written technology and IT-service oriented content and digital materials for a diverse employee and user population at Baptist Memorial Health Care. The content writer works collaboratively with a variety of departments to develop ideas, research and create materials necessary to communicate information to target audiences. Responsibilities will include interviewing leaders and staff members, writing stories on deadline for a variety of distribution channels, reviewing materials, planning projects and story ideas, and editing content.

• Collaborating with the Chief Information and Digital Officer to craft IT content and IT communications to be disseminated throughout Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation and its associated business partnerships.
• Collaborating with the CIDO and the IT Leadership team to focus and maintain both the brand message and the singular 'Voice of Corporate IT' to ensure consistent and cohesive communications.
• Writing and researching fresh, concise articles and case studies, and editing the writing of others to support Baptist's technology practice and IT Leadership team.
• Working closely with CIDO and the IT Leadership team to generate a variety of deadline-driven pieces, including original short articles (400-1,200 words) and report adaptations (distilling in-depth reports to >1,200 word articles).
• In collaboration with the Chief Information and Digital Officer, IT Leadership team, and communications / creative directors writer will generate new ideas and content to be used across multiple communications channels (email, web, blogs, video, social communications, etc.)
• Technical heavy writing and translating technology-to-common 'user friendly' language and consumable content.
• Creating knowledge points and user articles to populate the customer knowledgebase of Baptist's ServiceNow instance.
• Interviewing IT team members leaders and translating their insights and perspectives into compelling, professionally written materials (e.g., reports, POVs, articles, blogs, Q&As, PPT presentations, educational materials).
• Developing ongoing relationships with IT subject matter experts and practice teams.
• Managing multiple works streams simultaneously and independently.
• Editing/proofing own work and editing/proofing team work.
• Creating communications taking point outlines for key departmental messages.
• Moderate graphics and infographics creation as necessary.
• Develop technology-oriented responses and messaging around key themes as part of an organizational transformation journey.

Requirements, Preferences and Experience
• Minimum of 8 years' experience writing about complex technology and business topics, ideally as a technology journalist for a media/publishing company or technology trade organization.
• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or related area. Master's preferred
• Proven ability to write compelling leads, and structure articles in ways that support a clear, linear narrative.
• In addition to exceptional editorial skills, the individual should be skilled in interviewing subject matter experts on complex technology or business topics, comfortable working in an environment with frequent deadlines, and flexible to changes in editorial assignments and direction.
• Broad, current understanding of emerging technology trends (e.g., digitization, AI, AR/VR, advanced networking, cyber-security). Current health topics familiarity a plus.
