Manager-Finance - CS Medical Education University

Purpose of Position and Scope of Responsibility:

The Finance Manager supports the mission of Baptist University by managing the departmental/unit fiscal functions. Performs financial analysis and accounting activities using established policies and procedures in order to provide management with timely, accurate and complete financial information and to ensure quality outcomes for College of Osteopathic Medicine budget. Under the general direction of the Assistant Dean of Administration, Operations, and Services, responsible for 8 hours/day, 5 days/week Incumbents are subject to hours beyond the normal workday.

Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

• Responsible for coordination and monitoring of the College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM) operating and capital budgets. Provides oversight and management of department operating and capital budgets, contracts, grants, and gift funds.

• Responsible for general accounting functions and demonstrates the ability to design and interpret complex financial analyses in support of the strategic initiatives of the College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM).

• Demonstrates the ability to complete the following financial management activities: a) preparation of departmental financial statements, b) compile reports to provide senior management an accurate, timely indication of the financial status of the COM, c) provide financial support to senior management as needed.

• Supervises all student accounts, accounts receivable, and notes receivable. Provides training, evaluation and ongoing supervision of other financial staff.

• Coordinates departmental scholarships funding in order to facilitate achievement of University and COM goals.

• Maintains student information system in accordance with operational requirements and performs quality assurance activities to ensure data integrity of the system.

• Performs related accountabilities/responsibilities as required or directed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge/Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Education

Experience:

Five (5) years of experience in the field of accounting or financial reporting.
