System Director-PACS/Rad Eng - HS Metro Radiology PACS Corporate

Summary

The System Director of PACS and Radiology Engineering has oversight of two teams that service the Baptist system with regards to imaging applications and imaging equipment repairs and maintenance. This position works closely with both internal Operational and IT Leaders as well as external partners.

Responsibilities

The following represent System PACS responsibilities:

• Lead a team that supports all aspect of digital imaging for both Cardiology and Radiology for the system
• Maintain the integrity of the Patient Data within the imaging systems including dictation and reports
• Lead a team that supports staff and physicians for break fix and software trouble shooting
• Lead a team that trains staff, Radiologists and Cardiologists on clinical applications
• Lead efforts to Install and configure Pacs computers and software integrations with other applications
• Schedule upgrades and updates of all supported clinical system software and hardware
• Lead efforts to configure new modalities to work with Pacs
• Support hemo dynamics system for patient monitoring in the Cath labs, IR Labs, and EP labs
• Maintain diagnostic monitor accuracy and calibrations
• Project Management
• Data Migration
• Ensure the patient data is accurate and available in the pacs system for physicians and staff
• Ensure the pacs system is operational and measure performance of the system
• Validate the patient data is stored and archived in a usable and retrievable format
• Support operation and functionality of the voice recognition dictation system.

The following represents System Rad Engineering responsibilities:

• Lead a team that focuses on repairing Cardiology and Radiology imaging equipment
• Lead a team that assists imaging areas in compliance of all State, ACR, and Joint Commission radiation requirements
• Lead a team that performs preventative maintenance
• Lead a team that performs corrective maintenance
• Lead efforts to Outsource parts for best pricing
• Lead efforts to maintain uptime of imaging equipment
• Participate in contract negotiations for high end imaging equipment
• Work with Physicists and Radiation Safety Coordinator to maintain diagnostic accuracy of equipment and functionality
• Maintains regulatory compliance based upon NRC and State regulations governing radiation producing equipment and radiative material use

Requirements, Preferences and Experience

Education: B.S or higher degree in Information Systems or related field (i.e. Computer Engineering).

Experience: Training in or Operational involvement with hospital Radiology departments for 3 or more years
