Specialist-Fitness - JS Wellness Center MBMC

Summary

Assist in the implementation of all Healthplex programs or Baptist Nutrition Center programs and operations. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Implement fitness programs, classes and activities of the department and perform other duties as assigned by the Director. (20%)
• Assist in implementing daily operations of the department. Contribute to positive member relations by providing members and guests with information as needed and assisting office personnel with duties of the front desk. (20%)
• Assist with interdepartmental programs and other community service events and activities. Maintain all certifications required to teach certain classes. (20%)
• Monitor members and guest in the department to ensure the safety of all patrons. (20%)
• Perform regular cleaning and maintenance of all fitness equipment. Healthplex Maintenance of pool and whirlpool equipment to include checks of chemicals, balance as needed and document in the appropriate place. (10%)
• Maintain responsibility for personal education and professional development. Maintain responsibility for attendance, punctuality and professionalism to ensure that the department is operated in an efficient manner. (Shifts will be based on needs of the facility). (10%)
• Completes all assigned goals

Requirements, Preferences and Experience

Education

Minimum: Bachelor's in Exercise Physiology or Exercise Science

Experience

Minimum: 1 year of experience in Wellness

Licensure, Registration, Certification

Preferred: Applicable Aerobic Certification (ACSM, ACE, AFAA, etc.)

Minimum: Basic Life Support (CPR) Certification within 14 Days of Employment
