Summary Directs the daily operations of Security Department of designated entity/location. Daily operations include supervising departmental employees, maintaining policies and procedures, and ensuring security needs of the designated entity/location.
Responsibilities • Responsible for the operation and security of parking facilities
• Responsible for the investigation and resolution of security reports and criminal activity
• Responsible for the management of patient valuables, firearms, and lost and found items.
• Assist in budget management
• Conducts other assigned duties in emergency/unexpected situations as directed by Hospital Administration or direct leader
• Support Security Lieutenants and support staff in managing staffing/scheduling
• Support Security Lieutenants and support staff in managing payroll
• Assist with required security training to include on-boarding, annual mandatory training and competency validation, and other required training.
• Support Hospital and Security leadership in managing the hospital's workplace violence program.
Requirements, Preferences and Experience Experience Description Minimum Required Preferred/Desired 3 years of security and/or law enforcement equivalent experience
5 years of security and/or law enforcement equivalent experience. Supervisory experience of direct reports and a team. 1 - 2 years in healthcare security and law enforcement management
Education Description Minimum Required Preferred/Desired skill and proficiency to read, write and pass written examinations related to in-service training as normally acquired through official completion of high school or equivalent.
Bachelor's degree and/or graduate of an accredited law enforcement academy.
Training Description Minimum Required Preferred/Desired knowledge of Federal, State and local standards and codes related to security
Special Skills Description Minimum Required Preferred/Desired Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) training
Licensure Description Minimum Required Preferred/Desired TN armed guard license within 90 days of hiring; - Eligible for a County or Tennessee State Gun Permit; NRA Certification and Qualification with Firearms
