Identifies, develops and implements strategic community outreach and contributions opportunities that are aligned with the company's corporate giving focus areas and giving guidelines. Maximizes the depeartment's contribution to overall system goals and objectives through effective coordination of the company's corporate contributions and community involvement. Directs planning and coordination of the company's special events and meetings. Directs coordination and implementation of the system's employee volunteer program. Performs other duties as assigned.


  • Coordinates community involvement and special events for system projects as assigned (i.e. community events, volunteer program, sponsorships).
  • Plans, directs and monitors a strategic community involvement program that is aligned with the company's mission, goals and objectives and its plans for community involvement while ensuring programs are fully integrated with the marketing, public relations, web marketing, creative services and internal communications divisions of the department as well as the hospital entities and the Foundation to ensure compliance and cooperation throughout the system.
  • Identifies and coordinates corporate contributions opportunities that are strategically focused on the company's corporate giving guidelines, fall within the defined giving priorities, addresses key issues, enhances employee morale and makes an impact in the communities where the company is represented.
  • Identifies, plans and directs special interest community involvement campaigns (i.e., Healthy Church Challenge, Walk for the Homeless).
  • Directs planning and coordination of special events and functions such as board meetings/retreats, company events, marketing events and other events as assigned by senior leadership, the director and/or manager.
  • Develops and maintains accurate budgets, records and files and uses the information to assess and report status via monthly reports.
  • Plans and directs promotion of the department's community benefit contributions and activities.
  • Directs and trains other employees and officials effectively on strategic community involvement practices and initiatives to ensure consistent management of contributions and community involvement.
  • Cultivates and/or maintains effective and positive relations with both internal and external stakeholders including system boards and board of trustees, senior leadership, management, colleagues, volunteers, patients, visitors, community organizations, businesses, schools, associations and the community at large.
  • Completes assigned goals.

Requirements, Preferences and Experience


Minimum: Bachelor's degree in mass communications, public relations, marketing or a related field.


Preferred: Five years experience in corporate contributions management.

Minimum: Three years marketing, public relations or fundraising experience or applicable experience working in charitable, non-profit organizations.

Special Skills

Minimum: Strong verbal and written communications skills; researching and marketing skills; project management skills; customer service skills; basic finance and budgeting skills; research/analysis skills; public speaking skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
