Preventionist-Infection RN Days - TC Perf Improvement & Accr BMH Tipton

Summary

Enforces guidelines or creates mechanisms to facilitate compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and requirements of accrediting organizations. Serves as a liason between physicians, healthcare providers and various hospital committees. Provides relevant expertise and knowledge to manage the prevention, surveillance and control of infection with regard to hospital and community acquired infections. Participates in education of employees, physicians, patients and visitors. Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates and facilitates the hospital's infection control program and department.
• Participates in ongoing performance improvement and identifies opportunities for improvement.
• Participates in education of staff, physician, patients and visitors.
• Provides clinical leadership.
• Supports life long learning.
• Completes assigned goals.

Requirements, Preferences and Experience

Education

Preferred: Certification within 5 years of accepting position.

Minimum: Background in nursing, microbiology or related field.

Experience

Preferred: Two years recent Infection Control experience. Two years management experience in a health care setting.

Minimum: Two years recent Infection Control experience. Two years management experience in a health care setting.

Licensure, Registration, Certification

Minimum: RN

Special Skills

Minimum: Computer literacy
