Manager-Laboratory - JO Path General NEA Baptist Jonesboro

Summary

This position is under the direct supervision of the Lab Director. The Laboratory Manager will work along with the Laboratory Director to provide oversight and leadership to the hospital laboratory department and operation.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff and ensure compliance with all policies. Ensure adequate staffing in each department. Oversee scheduling and daily operations.
• Participates in the operational management of the Lab department including but not limited to hiring, supervising, counseling and evaluating all employees while maintaining regulatory requirements.
• Oversee the training and competency programs.
• Work with the director on budget and departmental goals.
• Develop and maintain operational plans for laboratory instruments and management of departmental documentation to meet the College of American Pathology (CAP) requirements.
• Provides leadership through facilitating Baptist vision/values through personal example and interaction with staff to communicate policies and goals.
• Assures timely, accurate, and appropriate performance of testing and reporting of results by resolving complex technical and administrative problems efficiently and effectively to ensure quality patient outcomes.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements, Preferences and Experience

Experience

• (Required) 5 or more years of laboratory experience with demonstrated abilities to direct team activities as well as in basic business applications.
• (Preferred) Laboratory Supervisor/Manager experience

Education

• Bachelor's Degree (Medical Technology of Clinical Laboratory Sciences)

Licensure

• (Required) ASCP or AMT
• (Preferred) ASCP
