Summary This position is responsible for insuring the delivery of reasonable accommodations to all eligible students at BHSU in accordance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1998, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, and the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments of 2008. This individual will assure that appropriate documentation and collaboration have occurred to insure appropriate accommodations are provided to students with documented disabilities. The ADA coordinator will provide oversight and supervision of resources for the testing center. The Coordinator will keep current with legislation and provide training to faculty and staff.

Ensure implementation by faculty/staff of approved reasonable accommodations for each student, each term within the time frames established according to the policies and procedures of the University.
Maintains up-to-date professional knowledge and skills and seeks opportunities for self-improvement and/or development.Collaborates with colleges and departments regarding research and grant opportunities to enhance student opportunities and outcomes.
Provide education to faculty and staff regarding Section 504/ADA requirements.
Coordinate the revisions to University policies and procedures related to Section 504/ADA, as necessary, to ensure that they are up-to-date and consistent with current federal and state disability laws.

Coordinates scheduling for the testing center with students, faculty, and staff, including tests for students receiving academic accommodations.

Performs other accountabilities as required or directed.
Requirements, Preferences and Experience Masters Degree in relevant field.
Three years administrative or college level teaching experience.
One year of disability services experience and experience working directly with students with disabilities.
Strong background in student development and advising.
Requires strong computer skills and effective use of various software and hardware programs.
