With limited supervision, this on-site Nurse position will be responsible for the overall execution of facility health, safety initiatives, and instituting best practice and evidence-based protocols. The nurse will initiate workers' compensation planning and maintains all documentation requirements.

The Registered Nurse, in this position, will perform their job functions with the utmost respect for patient confidentiality.

  • Updates and maintains all required healthcare documentation including nursing documentation, OSHA Logs, workers' compensation, return to work/restricted duty notifications, and employee onboarding
  • Coordinates periodic and pre-employment tests, as mandated
  • Oversees and manages workers' compensation claims including physician referrals. This also includes the necessary communications to all parties, statutory reporting, internal case management, etc..
  • Maintains and distributes inventory of safety and first aid supplies and any medically necessary supplies
  • Assists employees with medical needs on day-to-day basis ( acute and non-acute care)
  • Treats and provides professional nursing care to employees and/or persons who become ill/injured while on plant premises.
  • Implements and executes medical policies, protocols, and directives
  • Examines employees and evaluates their condition for capacity of performing duties when ill/injured on the job, sends employee home ( if needed), refers employee to physician, urgent care, hospital, or takes other appropriate action
  • Monitors injured employees conditions and/or vital signs to determine if ambulatory care is needed
  • Provides appropriate employee status information to designated managers
  • Prepares and maintains clinical records of treatment and care of employees, in accordance to applicable laws/regulations
  • Assists with the administration of workers' compensation program, safety inspections, and investigations
  • Coordinates return to work program, ensuring doctor's release to work documentation is obtained
  • Works with Health Service customers in a knowledgeable and professional manner
  • Maintains equipment and supplies
  • Adhere professional licensure requirements ( i.e. RN designation, nursing skill proficiencies, and CME)
  • Maintain OSHA record keeping ( i.e. create clinical records, maintain in compliance with OSHA regulations)
Experience and Education
  • RN Associates degree, BSN preferred
  • Minimum 3 years experience as a nurse. 5 years preferred. Experience in Emergency care, ICU care, and Urgent care is preferred
  • Valid state nursing license
  • Certified in CPR
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge and ability to treat light wounds
  • Knowledge of medical terms and conditions
  • Ability to create documentation and logs
  • Ability to communicate in a professional, clear manner
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain an organized environment
  • Ability to present oneself in a professional manner
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work 12 hour shifts, 3 days a week
