Summary

Educates students in: general education core; and/or health studies; and/or professional courses by providing instructional experiences that support mission and goals of the University and/or program. Under the administrative direction of the Academic Dean and/or general direction of the Program Chair.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates the creation of a learning environment for student instruction that encourages critical thinking, investigation, self-direction and respect for the uniqueness and strengths of each individual
  • Demonstrates a professional role within the discipline by remaining current with trends, issues and practices.


Requirements, Preferences and Experience

EEducation:

Master's degree required (preferred) or willing to complete a master's degree as a condition of hire, and academic training or experience in Microbiology, Blood Bank, or other MLS sub-specialties.

Graduate of a National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) accredited MLS program.

Experience:

4 years of clinical MLS experience, preferably in Microbiology and Blood Bank.

Collegiate teaching experience preferred.

Licensure, Registration, Certification:

Possess ASCP board certification.

Possess active unencumbered MLS credentials from a national certification agency recognized by the Tennesse Medical Laboratory Board.
