RN - HS Regional CPAC

Summary

Helps to coordinate and medically review outpatient diagnostic orders for all facilities handled by the Centralized Patient Access Center. Reviews orders for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with medical necessity as required by CMS. Coordinates with physicians and physicians' staff, ancillary departments, patients, and family to ensure that all patients have complete and accurate orders prior to services being rendered at each CPAC handled facility. Performs other duties as assigned.

• Enhances the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, nursing services administration, and the delivery of services.
• Optimizes resource allocation to support current and potential objectives and initiatives for area of responsibility.
• Fosters transparency, interdisciplinary collaboration, and accountability in area of responsibility.
• Supports life long learning.
• Completes assigned goals.

Requirements, Preferences and Experience

Education

Preferred: BSN

Minimum: RN licensure

Experience

Preferred: 2 or more years of experience in an outpatient diagnostic healthcare setting.

Minimum: Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience.

Licensure, Registration, Certification

Minimum: BLS CERTIFICATION WITHIN 14 DAYS OF HIRE;RN

Special Skills

Preferred: Good working knowledge of medical terminology in regards to outpatient diagnostic procedures (CPT codes) and diagnosis codes

Minimum: Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to speak, articulate, and be understood clearly. Ability to multi-task a high number of office work assignments at one time. Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Windows based software, ability to perform basic match computation.
