Summary

Ensures that all contractual agreements, as assigned, for the Baptist System are of the highest quality of goods and services at the lowest possible total cost. With working knowledge of legal, financial, technical, and operational factors of evaluating alternative methods, reviews, analyzes, and negotiates procurement agreements to ensure the most cost-effective means of obtaining goods and services. Recommends change affecting overall cost of goods and services in coordination with end user departments, and in a manner consistent with the corporate objectives of Baptist Memorial Health Care. Evaluates overall, total costs, administers and prepares financial analyses necessary to arrive at total financial impact of assigned vendor contracts. Collaborates with administration and end user departments as opportunities for cost savings on goods and services are identified and brought forth by end user departments, or as assigned by System Director. Prepares, maintains, and monitors RFPs as appropriate to ensure compliance with purchasing policy and procedure; Conducts financial analysis of RFP responses and reports findings to System Director. Utilizing database, monitors and tracks financial impact of negotiated contracts to ensure projected cost savings are realized.

Requirements, Preferences and Experience

Education

Preferred: Master's Degree or advanced certification as CPSM, CMRP or equivalent.

Minimum: Bachelor's Degree

Experience

Preferred: Some previous materials management experience in a supervisory or management capacity preferred.

Minimum: Minimum of fifteen (15) years experience in procurement management, including project management, development of sourcing and market strategies, negotiation, evaluation, vendor selection, and contract administration. Excellent planning, communication, and presentation skills.
