Summary Processes internal and external customer requests for health information. Analyzes and disperses correspondence upon receipt. Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities - Processes requests for health information from internal and external customers in an efficient and accurate manner.
- Accurately process correspondence according to guidelines.
- Conducts release of information functions.
- Meets productivity expectations for Physician Revenue Cycle medical record and correspondence requests.
- Maintains coding audit database.
- Completes assigned goals
Requirements, Preferences and Experience Education Minimum: High School Diploma or GED
Experience Minimum: Business related clerical job skills. One year customer service, collections, billing, and/or medical records experience in a physican or hospital billing office setting.
Special Skills Preferred: Experience with electronic medical record(s).
Minimum: Ability to type and/or key accurately and problem solve. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of medical record, billing and collections process.
Training Minimum: PC skills, keyboarding, MS office.
