Summary Provides psychotherapy, counseling, outreach and consultation services to BUCOM students to facilitate students' academic and personal success through mental health support on campus. Under the general direction of the Director of Admissions and Student Affairs. Responsible for 80 hours biweekly and incumbents are subject to hours beyond the normal workday.
Responsibilities 1. Responds to the counseling needs of students and intervenes in crisis situations by providing personal counseling and making appropriate referrals for students to facilitate academic and personal success at the University.
2. Develops and implements ongoing counseling, educational, and preventive programs and workshops related to mental health and student development for students, to enhance the psychological health of the campus community and impact student learning and success.
3.Serves as a resource in areas such as test anxiety, time management, stress reduction, and others related to academic and personal success, as requested by students and/or faculty, both individually and in classroom settings, to support students' progression at the University.
4. Participates in planning, implementation, and ongoing programming to maintain college compliance with applicable laws and regulations including Clery, VAWA, Title IX, and ADA. Serves on committees and provides support for initiatives supporting student mental health best practices.
5. Participates in Student Affairs' and other campus activities which contribute to building relationships with students at BUCOM.
6. Performs related accountabilities/responsibilities as required or directed.
Requirements, Preferences and Experience REQUIRED
Knowledge/Education: PhD or PsyD in clinical or counseling psychology
Experience: 2 years in student or adult counseling role
Licensure, Registration, Certification: Licensed professional Clinical Psychologist (LPC)
DESIRED:
Knowledge/Education: PhD or PsyD in clinical or counseling psychology
Experience: 3 years experience in student counseling role with 1 year at college level
Licensure, Registration, Certification: Licensed professional Clinical Psychologist (LPC) with current TN license
