Summary Supervises the overall residence life experience in support of and in accordance with the college's goals and objectives. Coordinates and maintains essential functions related to campus housing and the broader scope of the residence life experience, including programming for residents, selection and supervision of Resident Assistants, policy enforcement, and conflict resolution. Provides leadership in the residential facets of learning communities. Assists with coordinating food service for the residential community. Under the general direction of the Dean of Students.The person in this position will serve as a Campus Security Authority (CSA). A CSA has significant responsibility for student and campus activities and is designated as an individual to whom students and employees should report criminal offenses. It is the responsibility of the CSA to report to the Security Office all allegations of crimes when it does not violate confidentiality of student or employee.Responsible for all functions, 1 shift, 8 hours per day, 5 days/week. Some evening and weekend work required. Incumbents are subject to hours beyond the normal workday and are required to live in the residence hall 12 months per year (housing is provided).
Responsibilities - Plans and implements educational and social programming and activities for campus residence hall students. Recommends budget expenditures for support of the overall program to Director of Student Services and Housing.
- Selects, trains, supervises, and evaluates resident assistant staff. Develops and implements staff training and development programs.
- Performs administrative and organizational functions including but not limited to assignment of rooms; distribution of keys; contract administration; check-in and check-out of residents.
- Enforces residence life and other college policies, and refers residents to Director of Student Services and Housing for disciplinary action when necessary. Serves as a resource for staff and students in dealing with specific residence hall problems such as roommate conflicts and other interpersonal concerns.
- Serves as campus housing liaison with academic areas for the development of learning communities.
- Assists with the coordination of food/dining service for the residential community.
- Assists as a team member with special events and academic ceremonies such as graduation and convocation.
- Performs related accountabilities/responsibilities as required or directed.
Requirements, Preferences and Experience Education Desired: Master's preferred.
Minimum:
Experience Desired: Three years or more of work experience in residence life or campus housing at a college or university. Additional experience in social media, marketing, or campus life a plus.
