Summary The Cellular Therapy Laboratory Technologist is responsible for the performance of highly technical and complex cellular and immunotherapeutic procedures. These include, but are not limited to cell separation, cryopreservation, quantification, and characterization of products for bone marrow transplant or other immunotherapeutic procedures for clinical use. Products may include white blood cells, bone marrow or peripheral blood stem cells as well as other biological components. Serves as a resource to coworkers and others in field on aspects of cellular separation and processing characteristics and procedures.
Responsibilities - Participates in quality and process improvement initiatives for the Cellular Therapy Lab.
- Assist in coordination of accreditation and vendor inspections in collaboration with BCC-MHT program leadership
- Participant in meetings associated with the BCC-MHT program
- Participant Quality Management Plan and required components as mandated by FACT
- Serve as a liaison with Clinical Research Coordinators for research trials within the department
- Working with minimal supervision, perform cellular product processing using multiple processing, cell culture, and separation techniques.
- Complete qualitative and quantitative assays on cell therapy products including flow cytometry, qPCR and ELISA.
- Comply with the facility's standard operating procedures and policies which incorporate the cGMP/cGTP, FACT, CAP and AABB regulatory standards applicable to cellular therapy product production and analysis.
- Identify problems that may adversely affect product or testing performance and follow the Cell Therapies Facility standard operating procedures and policies whenever product processing or analytic testing are not within the defined acceptable criteria and/or levels of performance.
- Handle fresh and frozen cellular products for shipment and infusion.
- Maintain aseptic technique and work within a clean room environment.

Requirements, Preferences and Experience Experience Minimum: Two years' experience as a Medical Technologist
Preferred: Specific experience in cell processing and cryopreservation
Education: Minimum: Bachelor Degree and completion of AMA approved program for medical technologyLicensure, Registration, CertificationMinimum: State Licensures and/or National registration or certification in concordance with current Federal and/or State Regulations.; Medical Technologist
Special Skills Minimum: Basic computer literacy
