Summary Within the on-campus Marketing, Alumni and Communications office, the Assistant Director of Marketing is responsible for content development and implementation of marketing projects and campaigns of the brand and creative direction on assigned projects. Additionally, the Assistant Director of Marketing will serve as the project manager for select on-campus service lines and clients. This position is responsible for the creation of marketing collateral, consisting of print and digital, primarily related to program offerings, news, events, outreach, and scholarly activities for distribution to University constituents. This position assists University team members with event coordination and activities.
Under the general supervision of the Director of Marketing and Alumni Affairs, responsible for 1 shift, 8 hours/day, 5 days/week.Incumbents are subject to hours beyond the normal workday.
Responsibilities 1. Create compelling visually branded marketing materials including writing, editing, and graphic design.
2. Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Director of Marketing & Alumni Affairs and assistance with day-to-day activities.
3. Assist in preparation and coordination of campus promotions and events.
4. In coordination with the Director of Marketing & Alumni Affairs, serves as a supervisor to marketing coordinator team members.
5. Coordinate project management and client relations with various on campus clients.
6. Demonstrate effective teamwork across various departments, bringing forward proactive and innovative visual communication solutions.
7. Employ strategies for content optimization and enhanced production workflows.
8. Performs related accountabilities/responsibilities as required or directed.
Requirements, Preferences and Experience Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in marketing, graphic design, business, education or related field.
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite Applications including but not limited to Adobe Suite Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
Ability to work in a collaborative environment and establish positive and professional relationships with all levels of colleagues.
Minimum 4 years work/experience in the field of higher education, communications, graphic design, business or related field.
Desired: Master's degree in higher education, business, marketing or related field.
Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite Applications including but not limited to Adobe Suite Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
Ability to work in a collaborative environment and establish positive and professional relationships with all levels of colleagues.
6 or more years related work experience preferably in a higher education setting.
