Summary .Responsible for the management of Pharmacy operations and personnel, for the development and implementation of Pharmacy policies and procedures and for preparing and dispensing medications and pharmaceutical supplies for inpatients and employees.
Under the general supervision of the Administrator/CEO, responsible for the supervision of the Pharmacy personnel seven days per week, one shift per day. Incumbent is subject to call-back as required by the hospital.
Responsibilities •
Maintains inventory of pharmaceuticals and supplies, insures proper conditions for refrigerator and security.

Checks and replenishes narcotics for the hospital, investigates and resolves discrepancies of all drugs and maintains all required documentation.
•
Prepares work schedules and authorizes overtime and time off.
•
Schedules provides departmental and hospital personnel inservices.
•
Develops and monitors quality assurance procedures, conducts audits, and maintains related documentation.
•
Contributes to a positive work climate and the overall team effort of the department.
•
The Director of Pharmacy shall ensure that the department meets all legal and accreditation/certification requirements. In addition, the Director shall ensure that the department complies with all applicable hospital policies, procedures, codes, and standards.

Develops policies and procedures that promote the safe and effective use of drugs in the hospital.
•
Supervises drug storage and preparation areas throughout the hospital.
•
Maintains strict control and accountability for medications dispensed to patients or stored.
•
Coordinates and reviews monthly inspections of all areas where drugs are dispensed or stored.
•
Participates in all committees/functions required by the hospital.
•
Submits patient charges and other financial reports to hospital administration in accordance with hospital policy.
•
Works with the medical staff to accomplish drug utilization, evaluation, and review.
Requirements, Preferences and Experience Education
Doctorate of Pharmacy or grandfathered
