Summary Operates radiology equipment and performs routine diagnostic procedures as prescribed by physicians according to established standards and practices to aid in the diagnosis and/or treatment of disease. Routinely works in 2 or more specialties.
Responsibilities • Performs radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety method as requested by a licensed physician.
• Exercise judgement in selecting and computing settings for each patient.
• Develop an appropriate procedure/treatment plan.
• Implements procedure/treatment plan utilizing established hospital protocols/guidelines.
• Completes documentation as required to comply with hospital policies and procedures.
• Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
• Participates in hospital and departmental performance improvement activities to ensure that patient care is consistent with established standards. Collects quality data for monitoring performance improvement.
• Completes assigned goals.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements, Preferences and Experience Experience:
Experience as obtained through completion through Radiology Technology Program
Education:
Completion of a formal education program in radiography accredited by a mechanism acceptable to ARRT.
Licensure:Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with Registry in Radiography ARRT (R).; BLS Certification
