Monitors the assigned area for purposes of deterring crime or misconduct and for detecting and initiating corrective action on physical security problems and safety hazards. Checks all doors in assigned areas, secures for alarms, or unlocks as needed. |

Responds to all calls of alarm or disorder, assesses the situation and acts accordingly. Support and respond as University First Responders during campus emergencies. Enforces the BHSU security rules, policies, and procedures and detains suspects under the Tennessee Law as it becomes necessary in the support of the mission. Maintain good standings on required certifications and licensures. |

Serves as a resource for facilitating University communication by processing and receiving information and disseminating information to the appropriate department, individual, or student. Serve as campus dispatch providing appropriate information to other departmental staff on duty. |
1. Uses University computers, software, phones, fax machines, copier, overhead paging, digital beeper as directed.2. Prepares reports as directed using University computer and software.3. Appropriately sorts and routes departmental mail and deliveries.4. Reports all pertinent information concerning front desk shift events to appropriate administration.5. Supervises all entry to and exiting from the buildings to ensure appropriate use of University ID cards.6. Controls traffic in the area of Parking and other critical loading zones by enforcing University parking policies to ensure compliance. Facilitate equipment checks including safety/emergency devices as well as security equipment. |
