Laboratory Instructor, Biomedical Sciences Program (Undergraduate)

Overview

Summary

The Lab Instructor enhances student learning by providing laboratory and course instruction, which is directly related to desired course outcomes; evaluates educational outcomes and uses outcome data to modify instructional methodology with the goal of ensuring competent health care practitioners and good citizens. This position is under the direct supervision of the Supervisor of the Science Laboratories. Position may require hours beyond the 8-hour workday. 

Responsibilities

• Provide and/or assist in the instruction and evaluation of students in the laboratory/course component of General Education and Health Studies courses including Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
• Maintain safe, organized and stocked laboratory spaces.
• Advises and tutors students and evaluates academic progression of students in meeting requirements for the program of study and in accomplishing program outcomes.
• Performs related accountabilities/responsibilities and required or directed.

Education Requirements: 

Minimum:  Bachelors Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or related fields. 

Desired:  Master's Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics or related fields. 

Experience Requirements: 

Minimum: College-level teaching experience in a science laboratory setting.

Desired: Teaching experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Biology, Chemistry, or Physics.
